Lex sighed as he padded through the mansion, exhausted from a hard day’s work. Friday night, and he was stuck alone … Clark was at some End of the Year dance at the high school. Lex sighed as he dropped his briefcase in the foyer. He couldn’t wait for the school year to be over … to take Clark with him to Metropolis, where they would be free to be together without worry.
As Lex wandered through the mansion, he heard the strains of music coming from the ballroom.
“What in the world?” Lex muttered. His breath stopped when he saw Clark standing in the ballroom. It had been filled with a multitude of candles and roses, and Clark stood tall and proud in the center of the ballroom dressed in a pair of fitted black pants and a dark blue sweater.
“Hi,” Clark murmured.
“What about the dance?” Lex asked.
“Hanging out with a bunch of people I’ll more than likely never see again,” Clark murmured, walking across the room to the CD player. “I’d rather be with you.”
Lex smiled and crossed the room, wrapping his arms around Clark’s waist as the strains of a new song filled the ballroom.
“Dance with me?” Clark whispered.
“Always,” Lex murmured, smiling as Clark led them into the center of the ballroom, swaying and humming to the music.
“Come on get higher/Loosen my lips/Faith and desire/And the swing of your hips/Just pull me down hard/And drown me in love,” Clark sang the words softly, nibbling on Lex’s ear.
“Just a few more weeks,” Lex murmured, pressing his body to Clark’s.
“Can’t wait,” Clark whispered. “I love you.”
“Love,” Lex whispered back, relaxing into Clark’s embrace, allowing the world to disappear as he danced with his lover … his soul mate.
