Title: Prompt 37: Angst

Summary:  A missing/added scene to 'Hidden' ... Not a happy one ... comes with a manip!

The room was quiet; all the machines had been taken away. The only thing left to do was move the body down to the morgue. 

 

He slipped quietly into the room, drawn to the still body on the gurney covered in the stark white sheet. He moved the sheet out of the way, and brushed a sable curl from the boys’ forehead.

 

“Clark,” Lex whispered. “I know you can’t hear me … and that’s what makes this easier.” He stroked his fingers through Clark’s curls. “I was wrong … so wrong. I should have waited … waited for you to tell me. I ruined our friendship and now … now I can’t get it back.”

 

He felt his fingers shaking, and couldn’t stop himself from dropping to his knees next to the gurney, tears falling fast down his pale cheeks. “Clark,” he said through his tears. “I love you … I love you so much and damn it you’re not here for me to tell you … Why did you always have to try to be the hero? Why did you leave me here … alone? I need you here … need you to keep me balanced … I don’t think I realized it till now … Please Clark … please come back to me … I know you can … “

 

Lex collapsed onto the cold hospital floor, pressed his face to his knees, and cried.

Ever thought about writing Clark's reaction to Lex's supposed 'death' after his plane went down over the ocean? We know that even red-K Clark was affected enough to show up at Lex's funeral, and presumably Clark would have reacted even more strongly during those intervals where he tore the ring off....

Hay, have you seen that lovely Clex death scene on Youtube where Lex declairs his love to a dieing Clark? It fits this quite nicely.

Yeah, it's sad, but I have the knowledge that in the show Clark got better, so if I were to continue this drabble, Clark would have gotten better and made everything okay
