House of Night, Burned

Goddess, I forgot how much I loved the House of Night series by P.C and Kristin Cast ... I just finished the 7th book, Burned and I ordered Awakened from Amazon (this series I like to read in hard copy, not on my Kindle)

P.C. and Kristin have such a way with words ... they manage to keep me interested, on the edge of my seat, and make me laugh all at the same time. Their timing and sense of humoar ar amazing and I love each and every book ... There are 8 books in the series, with the 9th coming out this summer ... I just finished 7, so now I'm waiting for 8 LOL

One example of their humor:

"Yeah, 'cause we think you're like Rachel on Glee," Shaunee said. "Super annoying, but she has to be in the show 'cause sometimes she comes up with good stuff and kinda sorta saves the day."

Also, they reference a character named Becky Renee Apples, a girl whose mother monogrammed 'BRA' on all her sweaters ... tell me that isn't funny.

Now I have to sit and wait for the 8th book to come *twiddles thumbs*

I Love HoN! I wish they didn't get greedy and start putting them in hardcover though. It sucks waiting for them in paperback.

I've been buying them in hardcover because I'm too ansty to wait for paperback LOL

But the HoN series is totally awesome ... engaging and keeps me intrigued during each book!

I have mixed feelings about these books. I love the stories themselves but the characters all feel ... IDK ... like the authors are trying too hard to make them hip? So it sounds fake? Zoey especially annoys me - I've heard the last two books aren't in her POV so I really need to catch up because I think I might like them more.

But at the same time once I start reading I can't put them down. LOL

I adore the stories and love where the authors are taking things, but I agree, sometimes they're trying a bit too hard.

The 7th jumps POVs which is really interesting (I haven't read the 8th yet LOL)

And I'm right there with you! I read most of the 7th book yesterday and finished it last night LOL
