Summary: Lex comforts Clark after an attack
Lex was tired; he had pulled almost a twelve hour day at the factory, and was finally heading home. Sadly he would not be able to spend the night with his lover, as Clark had to work at the farmer’s market the next morning. He was so tired that he almost missed the form lying on the side of the road. Lex immediately pulled over. He rolled the man over and gasped. The man was Clark, and there was no place on his face that was not covered in blood and bruises. He lay shivering in the cold as whoever had beat him up had left him lying there in nothing but his boxers. Lex’s gaze traveled the length of Clark’s body, and he could see slivers of kryptonite stuck inside the various wounds that covered Clark’s body.
“Clark? Clark, can you hear me?” Lex asked as he stripped off his coat and wrapped it around his lover.
“Lex?” Clark murmured. His lips were blue with cold and he was shivering. “Lex, help me … please.”
“I’m here, I promise. Do you think you can make it to the car?” Lex asked. Clark nodded, and Lex helped him up and they made their way to the car. As soon as Clark was secured in the passenger seat, he raced to the driver’s side and broke every traffic law in Kansas to get back to the mansion so he could save his lover.
They reached the mansion in record time, and Enrique was in the driveway to meet them. “Sir?”
“Have a maid bring a lead box, plenty of towels and some alcohol,” Lex said as he rushed Clark through the mansion and into the master bathroom. Clark’s shivering had worsened and Lex was worried. He found the towels and alcohol waiting, and grabbed a towel to pillow Clark’s head. He reached for a pair of tweezers from the sink and went to work. Clark had slipped into unconsciousness and for this Lex was grateful. Some of the slivers were deeply imbedded, and Lex had to dig to retrieve them. After he removed a sliver, he would douse the wound in alcohol and place the sliver in the empty lead box. Finally the last sliver removed, Lex closed the lid to the lead box and watched as Clark’s wounds immediately began to heal. He stopped shivering and his color returned.
“Lex?” Clark whispered hoarsely. Lex leaned down and gently kissed his lover.
“I’m here,” Lex replied. “I’m just going to run you a hot bath. I won’t be gone long, I promise.” Lex watched Clark sigh and relax. He ran the bath water and rushed back to Clark. He quickly stripped and then helped Clark strip out of his blood soaked boxers and into the tub. He settled himself gently in front of his lover and began gently washing him. He started at Clark’s feet, and worked his way up, washing away the dirt and the blood. He took great care in washing Clark’s face, and was incredibly tender as he washed his lover’s hair. Yes, he knew his lover/boyfriend was indestructible but Clark needed soft and gentle.
Lex helped Clark out of the pink tinged water and began drying him dry off with a big white fluffy towel. Clark struggled into a pair of white boxers and Lex helped him to bed. Lex crawled in; Clark followed and laid his head on Lex’s lap.
“You want to talk about it?” Lex asked, running his fingers through Clark’s hair.
“I was actually on my way to see you. Yes I know I have the Farmer’s Market tomorrow but I just couldn’t go to bed without saying goodnight,” Clark said with a smile. “I was walking down the road when I saw Lana standing there; but she didn’t act like Lana. She held up this large piece of kryptonite and said something about the stones. I don’t really know what happened after that because I blacked out. I assume she bashed me a ton with the stone, and left because she thought I was dead.” Clark sighed, closed his eyes and snuggled against Lex.
“It appears that Isabelle decided to take control yet again,” Lex said softly.
“Wow, she’s gonna be pissed when she finds out that I already have all the stones,” Clark said with a soft chuckle. Lex shifted so he was lying next to Clark. Clark snuggled up against him and rested his chin on Lex’s shoulder.
“Of course, her plans are now ruined. The second she finds that out, let’s hope she runs. She really has no more use for possessing Lana, except to annoy us,” Lex said. Clark started to laugh but it quickly turned into a yawn. “All right, time for sleep alien boy,” Lex said. “I promise to wake you up in time so you can get home.” Clark nodded slowly and burrowed deeper under the covers. Lex soon heard Clark’s breaths deepen and knew he had fallen asleep. He thanked every deity known to man that he was on that road at that precise moment; he couldn’t handle the thought of losing his love. Clark snorted softly and pulled Lex closer to him. Lex smiled and allowed Clark’s deep breathing to lull him to sleep.
