Drama at the Movies
Mar. 24th, 2012 10:06 amSo I went to see 'The Hunger Games' last night ... will post squee in a minute LOL
First there was drama ... so I was seeing the 7:45 showing with a bestie. I had to stay a little late at work (of course) and when I got there at about 6:15 the bestie was already in line ... so there went dinner plans. But I should have expected that given the buzz for the movie :D.
So ... we weren't too far back in the line, but people had been saving spots, etc. There was this guy behind us though, with his daughter, and he suddenly started talking to this teenager on the other side of the ropes (further up in line) about how he was just going to cut in front of everyone because all these people were saving spots and cutting in front of him. O.o ... The teenager tried to talk to him sensibly, but ... no. The guy wasn't having any of it. So then, a theater employee comes around to make sure everyone has actual tickets, not just Fandango printouts and the guy starts talking to her about how do they know these people weren't cutting, etc. Really guy? They're not going to sell more tickets than seats in the theater, chill. So THEN the line starts moving, and a couple of teenage boys in front of us were going to cut the line to be with their friends who were already there, but there wasn't room for them, and the guy starts telling the teenagers to go back of he'll hurt them ... like punch them! The boys spoke with some of the employees about him and I don't know if the guy got kicked out but ... wow. And I feel bad for his daughter.
There were a couple of chatty people around us ... so I'll need to see it again :D :D (not a hardship LOL)
I didn't get to eat dinner until 11:00 last night ...
OH! And I ran into two kids that used to go to the Y when I worked there. One was working there in the theater ... and I'm friends with her older sister on FB O.o ... The other was one of the teenagers who was in front of me ... he had to be about 14 ... I knew him when he was 5 and 6 ... How old did that make me feel?????
Now on to the movie ... Epic love!!!!!! It is a great companion to the book ... and the movie had some really interesting shots and I loved the music and the look and the costumes and I felt the casting was spot on!!! I loved loved loved Effie Trinkett and Haymitch!!!!!!! Just perfect!! And my love for Peeta has grown to epic proportions LOL ... I can't wait to see what they do with the two other books!!!!

Nov. 25th, 2011 08:36 pmWent to go see Breaking Dawn (for the second time ... I know) ... Spent most of it laughing and making jokes about Jacob eyefucking all the guys ...
But during the previews I saw one for this movie ... from Disney called 'John Carter' ... with Taylor Kitsch wearing next to nothing :D
Then, we (friend and I) went to Starbucks where I got a peppermint mocha ... YUM!
On the way back to our cars, I saw two boys who couldn't have been older than 14 and THEY WERE HOLDING HANDS!!!! It was epically cute!!!!!

Car-mageddon! LOL
Jul. 17th, 2011 06:49 pmI had a nice weekend!
I left Anaheim and got on the freeway at about 5:20pm and headed up to Burbank. Normally on a Friday night, it would take me until almost 7:00pm to get to Burbank, but Friday night I got to my cousin's house at 6:20pm!!! Unheard of on a Friday night!!!
We had Chipotle for dinner (yum!) then headed off to the theater to see 'Larry Crowne' which was uber adorable!!!! Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts are awesome and it was pointed out to me that most of the movie was filmed in Burbank!
So, we got home and hung out for about thirty minutes before we both got tired and scooted off to bed.
We woke up the next morning and headed to Vivienne's for breakfast ... where I had the best banana pancakes!
Then we drove over to Mulholland to see the destruction of the bridge and it was like a tourist attraction!
Then we headed over to Crowning Glory and got our hair did. My hair is back to almost violet with blonde streaks, yay!!!
Then we walked down Magnolia and peeked into the vintage and consignment shops! We saw some cute shoes and OMG 80s dresses!!!!
Then I headed back home (only 40 minutes from Burbank to Huntington Beach, unheard of!) to meet my friend Cori for Deathly Hallows, Part 2!
Car-mageddon! LOL

An End ...
Jul. 17th, 2011 10:39 amI had a pretty busy weekend, and will do another post soonish, but ...
I saw Dealthy Hallows 2 last night and ... I'm at a loss. It was amazing and beautiful and I laughed and I cried ... and I mean I CRIED!!!!
And now ... I kinda don't know what to do, you know? It's an end to an era ...
I remember reading that first book and just being so amazed ... and then each book after that was even more amazing and wonderful. And then the movies came out and I was just ... in awe! To watch those three grow up ... and to watch all the other amazing talent ...
I think I'm still processing a bit.
