My Life ... It's Random

I got to see this yesterday at the Pantages with Darren Criss and Lena Hall and I was completely blown away.  Blown.  Away.



First, I'd forgotten how much I love live theater.  I mean, movies, television, YouTube videos ... they're great, but there is something about seeing a live performance that is just ... life altering.

I've never actually seen the stage performance before.  I think I've seen bits and pieces of a movie version, but it had to have been so long ago as yesterday's performance had SUCH and impact on me.  I was completely blown away and brought almost to tears.  I mean, superficially, Darren Criss can rock a pair of heeled boots and fishnets.  But past that ... it really hit home for me.

Remove the mask you've been wearing to make everyone else happy.  Destroy it.  Burn it.  Find yourself.  Be yourself.  LOVE yourself.

Really trying to get back into using this thing ... so some randomness!

America's Next Top Model is coming back in August ... I haven't watched in like, 4 years, but ... this season is 'Guys v. Girls' ... I'm intrigued.  I might have to watch.  Although it's only going to feed all the bunnies that pop up about all my fave boys competing to be a top model ... *facepalm*

In other news I bought the new Fall Out Boy album 'Save Rock and Roll' while I was on vacation and I absolutely LOVE it ... like, hardcore in love with it.  They did a song featuring Elton FUCKING John!!!!  I mean ... *loves* ... it's a great album and I highly recommend it!

P!nk extended her sold out tour and she had dates in LA for October 12, which is right after my birthday ... FB did a presale that started this morning and I was able to get into the presale and get tickets!!!

Yay, I'm going to see P!nk in concert!!!

So I get to go see Eric Church tonight in concert because I have epic awesome friends!!!!

I really just have to share this song ... I have such epic ♥ for it ... and the lyrics are just amazing ... I feel like it really is a battle cry ... for whatever you are battling, it is a cry to fight against it.

I have been listening to this album almost non-stop ... it's just so amazing.  So here is my review of the album, track by track.

1.  You Suck at Love -- This is seriously like, the most perfect post break up song.  It's fast and rocking and totally makes you wanna get up and dance and forget about the asshole who broke your heart by cheating on you.

2. Can't Keep My Hands Off You (feat. Rivers Cuomo) -- Okay, this is just a fun song ... it's most definitely a love song, but it's so cute!  There's a line where it says 'we're stuck like two pieces of velcro' ... totally adorable!  And I can just bounce around and dance to it all day!

3.  Jet Lag (feat. Natasha Bedingfield) -- this song is almost ... wistful.  It's about two people who ... miss each other.  I'm not normally one for Natasha Bedingfield, but her voice just adds so much to this song ... I get this song stuck in my head, but I really don't mind.  It's tons of fun!!

4.  Astronaut -- This one is a bit more melancholy, but still completely awesome.  It's about being lonely ... and being disconnected from the world and just wanting to not be lonely anymore ... at least that's my view :)

5.  Loser of the Year -- another love song!  At least that's what I hear when I listen.  It's about having all this fame, but not having who you love, and what's the point of having all this fame and money if you can't spend it on the one you love ...

6.  Anywhere Else But Here -- OMG!  This song is fun!  And really, who doesn't really want to be anywhere else but stuck in an office, or traffic or having to wake up at 6am ... I know there are plenty of times that I'd rather be 'Anywhere Else But Here' ...

7.  Freaking Me Out (feat. Alex Gaskarth) -- This song's got an epic awesome beat ... 'I swear I thought I knew you, but that was yesterday' ... it kind of rings true to me ... it's about people who you thought you knew who are SO not who you thought they were ... they've changed and now they're just ... not the same

8.  Summer Paradise (feat. K'naan) -- this really is one of those cool summer songs, just cool and mellow.  It makes me think of bonfires and games on the sand.  There's a love song hidden in there if you listen really close.

9.  Gone Too Soon -- Oh god ... this song makes me cry.  The title of the song says it all, really.  'I never got to say goodbye' ... that's SO true.  I don't have the right words to express my love of this song ...

10.  Last One Standing -- A great song with a kick ass beat!  For me, it's about not letting other people (like 'so called' friends) put you down ... it's about standing up for yourself and being proud of yourself

11.  This Song Saved My Life -- THIS SONG!  I don't have enough words for how powerful this song is to me ... it really is about the power of music over a person.  And I can related to this song so much, because at one point I was so down, so low and hurting so bad, but ... music really helped, and actually Simple Plan music really helped ... the whole song just ... hit's me so hard, and I can't help but get shivers and tear up everytime I listen to it (I'm actually listening to it as I write this review ... )

12.  Jet Lag (feat. Marie-Mai) -- same song as above, just half in French ... and for some reason I think I like the half French version better? 

13.  Never Should Have Left You Go --  A love song again .. about missing someone who you let go, but regretting it, and wanting tht person back.

14.  Loser of the Year (accoustic version) -- The accoustic version has a differnet feel ... but it's just as wonderful and the message of giving everything up for who you love rings even clearer.

I highly reccommend this entire album ... run, don't walk to your nearest music store of iTunes and get it now!!! :D
