New Phone ... task manager anyone?

However, I have this fear that I'm going to go through all 2GB of my data in like ... days
I used to have a Samsung Galaxy S and it had a lovely task manager that I could go to and end apps that didn't end when I exited.
But my new Samsung Galaxy S III does NOT have a task manager on it that I can go to and make sure apps aren't still running. O________________________o
Anyone else have a Galaxy S III? If I exit out of the app is it still running? Is there a way to check? I don't want to eat my data
