Summary:  What did Jor-El do exactly to punish Clark?

Consequences

“You must learn that there are consequences for defying me.” Jor-El’s voice echoed ominously throughout the Fortress. Clark was about to respond when he was enveloped in a painful white light. Clark screamed and fainted.

                                                *           *           *

Clark groaned softly, shifting on the ground. He popped an eye open and found himself lying in his living room. He struggled to sit up, and wondered why his body felt so odd, so off balance. He stood up, looked down and screeched. Kara and Lana came running into the living room from the kitchen.

“Clark, you must have really made Jor-El angry,” Kara said, fighting her laughter.

“What the hell happened?” Clark asked, then clapped a hand over his mouth at the feminine sound of his voice.

“Jor-El’s favorite mode of punishment,” Lara supplied. “I’m sure it will wear off once Jor-El has finally decided you learned your lesson, or when you start fulfilling your destiny … whichever comes first.”

Clark sighed. “This is horrible,” he said in his new girlish tone.

Lana giggled. “Well, I think you look cute,” she said, staring at Clark. He was still the same height, but much thinner, curvier. The face was the same, yet not; with fuller lips and emphasized cheekbones. His hair hadn’t changed, yet it worked with his new appearance.

“I feel weird,” Clark said, shifting his weight from foot to foot.

“Come on Clark,” Lana said, pulling Clark toward the stairs.

“Where are we going?” Clark asked, confused, and a little scared.

“You can’t walk around in those clothes, they don’t fit!” Lana said, rolling her eyes as if to say ‘duh’. Clark whimpered a little, but followed, until they reached Lana’s closet.

“Lana, I’m not sure … “ Clark trailed off as he saw Lana pull tons of things out of her drawers and closet.

“Here, you’re taller … and thinner than me, but these should fit,” Lana said, handing Clark a pile of clothes. Clark stood there with the clothes in his arms, waiting for Lana to leave so he could change. “Clark, we’re all girls here,” she said, her eyes on Clark’s body.

“I’ll go to the bathroom then,” he replied. He was in the bathroom with the door locked before Lana could blink. He stared at each item before he sighed and put them on. Purple satin bra with matching purple lace panties, black cami and short denim skirt. He slipped into some black flip-flops and took a deep breath, preparing himself.

“Are you done?” Lana asked as she knocked on the bathroom door. She smiled as the door opened and Clark stepped out. “Kneel for a second,” she said, sighing to herself as Clark knelt at her feet. She wrapped a small black scarf around his head like a headband, then patted him on the head.

“My good girl, my delicious good girl,” she murmured.

Clark jumped to his feet. “Lana!” he yelled, his face red with embarrassment.

“Come on,” Lana murmured, advancing on Clark. “You’ve never wondered?”

“N-no,” Clark stammered, backing up until he hit the wall behind him.

Lana gave him a seductive smile, pressing her body against his. “You look so delectable,” she said, her hands on Clark’s hips.

“But, I –I mean I’m a – “

“Girl? Yes I know,” Lana said. “I don’t care. I want feel your skin under my lips, under my tongue … “

“Lana! I can’t – “ He sped from the farm, leaving Lana standing bewildered in the hallway.

                                                *           *           *

Clark didn’t know where he was going until he stopped in front of the Mansion. He didn’t know why he had run there, but it seemed like a good idea … he’d always felt safe there when he was younger. He walked through the door and followed the voices.

He found Lex in his study with a younger man, chatting and laughing. He stood in the doorway, just watching with a wistful smile; he remembered when he and Lex had been that chummy. He jumped a little when Lex saw him.

“Mr. Gabriel, it seems I have a visitor. We can continue our discussion some other time,” Lex said smoothly.

“Of course,” Grant said, sailing smoothly pass Clark, pausing long enough to give Clark’s ass a good stare and Lex a lascivious wink.

“Can I help you, miss?” Lex asked, taking a long sip of water.

“Lex … “ Clark whispered, on the verge of tears.

Lex took a long look at the girl standing before him, his brain working to figure out why she seemed so familiar. He looked past the whorish clothes, and focused on her eyes … bright green eyes. “Clark?” Lex whispered.

Clark nodded, finally giving in to the stress and fear, sinking to the ground in the middle of the study and wrapping his arms around his knees.

Lex walked over and sat down next to him. “How did this happen?” he whispered.

Clark took a shuddering sigh. “My father,” he said softly.

“Your father?” Lex repeated.

Clark nodded. “I disobeyed him, I’m not fulfilling my destiny,” he said.

“What destiny?” Lex asked softly, rubbing Clark’s back gently. He had a feeling he was about to have his suspicions confirmed.

“To rule the humans of Earth,” Clark replied, staring at Lex with his wide green eyes. “I was sent here to rule.”

“Where were you sent from?”

“Krypton … I am the last son of Krypton,” Clark murmured, finally starting to relax.

“Son?” Lex said, trying to hold back his chuckle.

Clark shot him a look. “This is only temporary … until Jor-El decides I’ve learned my lesson or I start fulfilling my destiny, whichever comes first according to Kara.”

Lex smiled. “So, you’re an alien, huh?”

Clark nodded. “I’ve wanted to tell you that for so long … I have powers, the green rocks, they make me sick … “ He was trying to tell Lex everything at once; the floodgates opened and could not be closed.

“Shh, shh, it’s okay,” Lex said, pulling Clark into his arms, hugging him gently. He could feel Clark relaxing in his arms and smiled a little. “So, can I ask who dressed you?”

“Lana,” Clark whispered. “She … she hit on me, too … it was a side of her I’ve never seen, and frankly … she creeped me out.”

“She has a tendency to do that,” Lex said with a chuckle.  “Do … do you want to stay here? I have plenty of rooms.”

Clark blushed and nodded. “Don’t want to go back to the farmhouse … Lana’s probably still there,” he said. Lex laughed, helped Clark off the floor and walked with him up the stairs to one of the guest bedrooms.

 “You can sleep here for a while if you want.”

“Thank you,” Clark murmured, and crawled into the bed, still fully dressed, and fell promptly asleep.

Lex stood in the doorway, watching Clark sleep in the large bed. The things he’d learned today didn’t change the feelings he still harbored for the boy, now girl.

                                                *           *           *

Clark fidgeted in the car as Lex drove them into Metropolis. “Lex, do we have to?”

“Clark, if you are going to continue to be in my company, I will not have you walking around in Lana’s clothes,” Lex said, giving Clark a wink. They had spent the morning talking; secrets were spilled and nothing was unknown now. Then Lex had fussed a bit with Clark’s hair, handed him one of his dress shirts and hauled him out to the car. Now, there were well on their way to Metropolis, to get Clark some clothes and some pampering.

“But Lex,” Clark whined.

“No Clark, no arguments,” Lex said with a smile. Clark sighed, and turned to watch the road as as Lex drove. He was pouting, he knew, but he didn’t care. Lex glanced over at Clark and smiled; he was cute when he was pouting. They finally made it to Metropolis and Lex pulled up in front of a posh looking spa. “We’re here,” Lex said.

“Where?” Clark asked, looking out the window. “Lex … clothes are one thing, but a spa?”

“Clark,” Lex started. “All high society women attend spas, and you will be no different.”

Clark heaved a sigh, but nodded. “I guess,” he said. “Let’s get this over with then.”

“That’s my girl,” Lex said, getting out quickly to avoid the smack aimed at his arm. He moved around the car to open the door for Clark, escorting him inside the spa.

“How can we help you?” the receptionist said.

“I’m Lex Luthor, and this is my companion Celeste Kensington. She’s been in the Congo for the past year,” Lex lied smoothly.   “Take care of her; the works please.”

The receptionist nodded and immediately motioned for a couple of attendants, who whisked Clark away. Lex took a magazine and sat down in the waiting area.

Clark whimpered as he was lead through a labyrinth of hallways to a changing room. Wearing a robe and his undergarments, he was escorted from room to room, treatment to treatment. He had no idea the lengths women would go to, just to be looked on as beautiful. He was waxed, plucked, highlighted, trimmed, painted and buffed, and by the end he was exhausted. He was led back to the changing room where he got dressed again and made his way back to the waiting area.

Lex was still sitting in the exact same spot, but stood when he saw Clark coming his way. He smiled, and almost laughed when Clark blushed. “Stunning,” Lex whispered, kissing Clark’s cheek. “Are you okay?”

Clark nodded. “A little weird, but I’m okay.”

“Think you could handle a little clothes shopping?” Lex asked, handing over his credit card to the receptionist.

Clark sighed. “If I must,” he said, giving Lex a small grin. Lex laughed and led him back to their waiting car where they drove through town, headed for the most exclusive shops. The car squealed to a stop in front of a store and Lex pulled Clark long with him.

Clark hesitantly followed Lex, feeling uncertain and nervous. “You can do this,” Lex whispered as they entered the shop. They were immediately accosted by shop attendants.

“May we help you?”

“My companion has just come back from the Congo and has found herself lacking a great many things,” Lex said.  “Fit her with whatever you deem necessary, money is no object.”

The attendants nodded and pulled Clark further into the store, chatting about colors and shapes and other things Clark had no knowledge of. He turned pleading eyes to Lex, but Lex just smiled and motioned him along.

An hour later, Clark found himself in a dressing room filled with more things than Clark thought he would ever need. The girls assisting him insisted that he model everything for Lex. They giggled and pushed him out of the dressing room, forcing him out into the store to show Lex.

Lex would stand and circle Clark, his hand on his chin as he contemplated every outfit. He looked so serious, it would make Clark giggle. Lex would give Clark a wink, then approve the outfit.

“I am wiped,” Clark said as they drove to the penthouse hours later. “Who knew shopping was so tiring?”

Lex gave Clark a soft smile. “It can be very tiring, especially when it’s a whole new wardrobe.”

“But Lex, we don’t know how long this is going to last,” Clark said.

“Exactly,” Lex replied. “If it’s more than just a week, you would need everything I just bought for you. Besides, we will be attending plenty of events together, and you need to be properly attired.”

Clark gave Lex a grin. “Fine, fine. Don’t know what you’re going to do with it all when I become me again, but … “

Lex laughed, but remained silent on the subject. “Home sweet home,” he said as they pulled into the parking garage. He helped Clark out, and helped carry all the boxes and bags up to the penthouse. Once they were inside, Clark dropped the bags in the living room, found his way to one of the guest rooms, climbed into bed, and fell asleep.

Lex sighed and moved the bags into the guest room before moving to the study to do some work. He worked for as long as possible, before rubbing his eyes, closing the laptop and going to his own bed to sleep alone.

                                                *           *           *

Clark sat nervously next to Lex in the limo. “What if I can’t pull this off?” he whispered.

Lex took Clark’s hand in his. “You’re going to be just fine.”   He gave Clark a smile; he really did look stunning.

“I feel weird,” Clark said, tugging at top of the strapless red velvet gown he was wearing.

Lex smacked Clark’s hand away. “You look stunning,” he said, kissing Clark’s cheek gently, smiling when Clark blushed. The limo pulled to a stop, and Lex patiently waited for the chauffeur to open the door, exiting and helping Clark out. He kept Clark close to his side as they made their way down the red carpet and into the theatre.

Clark tried to remain calm and avoid the shouts and flashing lights from the cameras. He kept close to Lex, allowing Lex to lead him around. Once inside, Clark all but collapsed into his chair. He arranged himself appropriately and gave Lex a soft smile.

“Lex, who is this stunning creature?” Clark turned to see Oliver Queen standing there, with Lana on his arm.

“Queen, Lana,” Lex said curtly. “This is my companion, Celeste Kensington. She just arrived yesterday from a year in the Congo.”

Clark wanted to sink into the ground. He knew that Lana knew who he was, and hoped that she wouldn’t tell anyone, not that they would believe her.

“Ms. Kensington,” Oliver said, taking Clark’s hand and kissing it.

“Mr. Queen, a pleasure,” Clark said in a husky tone, giving Oliver a smile.

Lana glared at Clark the whole time, and Clark had to fight not to laugh. “Lana … Lang? Oh, you’re Lex’s ex-wife … I’ve heard all about you,” Clark said before turning to Lex, completely ignoring Lana.

Lana huffed, and Oliver gave Lex a nod before leading her away.

“Nicely played,” Lex said, kissing Clark’s cheek.

“Thank you,” Clark murmured softly. The lights went down, and soon Clark was lost in the ballet on the stage.

                                                *           *           *

The next few weeks went by in a blur. Clark was on Lex’s arm for every function. Sometimes they just went out to the nearby diner and talked and ate. Clark gained an insight into Lex, learned more about this man he had called friend than he had when they had been best friends. He could feel himself growing closer and closer to Lex, and it both excited and scared him.

                                                *           *           *

Clark was relaxing out on the balcony one afternoon, sunbathing in a dark purple bikini that Lex had bought for him.  He’d been thinking about the past couple of weeks with Lex, and knew that his feelings of friendship had evolved into something more complex.

Lex came home early that day, having finished work early so he could spend time with Clark. He wandered through the penthouse and found Clark lounging on the balcony in that bikini he’d bought.  He stood in the doorway, just taking in the sight. He sighed softly, and Clark turned.

“Hi,” Clark said, standing and walking over to Lex, hugging him gently.

“Hi,” Lex whispered. “How … How was your day?”

“Boring,” Clark replied. “I spent the whole day out on the balcony, soaking up the sun.”

“You look stunning,” Lex murmured, running a finger up Clark’s arm.

Clark shuddered, giving Lex a shy smile. “Lex … there’s something I want to tell you,” she said.

“You can tell me anything,” Lex said softly, tucking a stray piece of hair behind Clark’s ear.

“These past few weeks have been great, wonderful in fact. And, well … some things have changed,” Clark murmured. “At first you were an enemy, a former best friend. But then you became a confidant, someone to talk to. As the weeks passed and we spent all this time together … There are all these feelings building up, and I think it’s moved past friendship, and if you don’t feel the same than just tell me and I’ll go, but – “

Lex leaned forward and pressed his lips to Clark’s, cutting him off. “Clark, shut up,” he said as he pulled back. “I have loved you for so long.”

“Really? Even when I was … ?” Clark trailed off.

“Since the day you pulled me out of the river,” Lex admitted. “The outside doesn’t matter to me, although I admit that the Greek God is slightly more appealing than the nymph before me. But, if you never change back, I will still love you.”

Clark smiled and wrapped his arms around Lex, pulling him close. “Love you,” he whispered.

Lex smiled, lifting Clark into his arms. “If you change back, I won’t get another chance to do this,” he said with a wink.

Clark giggled, pressing soft kisses to Lex’s face and neck as Lex carried him through the penthouse. He squealed when he found himself thrown on the bed.

“Now, where were we?” Lex asked with a soft smile.

“Right here,” Clark whispered, pulling Lex’s lips up to meet his.

                                                *           *           *

Clark sighed and rolled over, reaching out for Lex. He found the spot empty, popped an eye open and saw the bathroom light on. He sighed and stretched happily. He looked down and gasped. He was male again.   What had happened to make him change back?

‘You have fulfilled your destiny.’ Clark jerked when he heard Jor-El’s voice echo in his head.

“My destiny? But I have no intention of ruling this planet,” Clark said.

‘If you will not rule, then the child you carry within you will.’ Clark paled, a hand going to his stomach. “Child?” Clark whispered.

“Clark? You up?” Lex padded out of the bathroom and gave Clark a soft smile.

Clark gulped and nodded, giving Lex a weak smile. “Yeah. Uh … Lex? I have something to tell you … “

I love a masterful Lex. Oh, he makes me swoon! And Clark is right to be afraid of Lana. Oy.

I want to know, though, how Kara knew what Jor-El had done...

Maybe she's had her own little contretemps? :)

Loved it all -- the best kind of fluffy sweetness.

I have to admit, though Lana isn't the best character on Smallville in sort of a pervy way I kind of liked her, at least when she was putting the moves on Clark, though I think it would be better with Kara. Hmmm...
But this was such a good way of getting Clark and Lex back together. And now it's going to be an mpreg? Yipee!!!!
I can't wait for the next part.

Thanks so much for sharing this link. I really enjoyed your universe but Lana is just CREEPY. I think those meteors warped her in the head. Love the Lex/Clark romance. Sweet and romantic.
