So, my friend Cori and I went to the Galaxy Theatre last night to see the band Some Hear Explosions play (along with two other bands, but I wasn't there to see them LOL)
Here is my pineapple juice! It was so so so yummy!!!!!
Here is the menu ... I had the chicken burger, which was actually pretty good ... it came with chips and salsa, which was okay.
Here is the stage (it's set up for Hollywood Heartthrob, the first band to play) ... the theatre itself is pretty small, with a half circle area for by the stage and a whole section behing that for eating dinner.
Here's me and Cori in front of the 'dancing' area
Here is my chicken burger ... it was pretty yumtastic actually.
The first band to play was Hollywood Heartthrob who were ... okay. They were really, really loud. And they were flamboyant and trying way too hard, in my opinion. The sad thing was that most people stayed sitting in the dinner area and didn't go down to the dance area. The lead singer threw a drumstick and it just sort of ... clattered to the ground, and then one of the four girls standing in front of the stage picked it up ...
After they got off stage, Some Hear Explosions started setting up. Some guy came over and asked us if we were there to see Lights Over Paris (the lead band apparently). And I flat out told him no LOL ... he was like O.o then said 'Well, you'll love them.' *shrug* Whatever.
So, I see Some Hear Explosions starting to set up, and then I see someone heading down to the dance area and I saw a flash of flannel and Converse and mussed hair ... it was Kyle Gallner. I swear to the Goddess, I almost didn't approach him, but ... in the end I did.
I introduced myself and of course, got the picture. I asked about how Ambre (the lead singer) was feeling. We didn't chat long, because he was obviously not there for my whims LOL, but for his girlfriend.
Then Some Hear Explosions took the stage. And just ... wow. Blew me away! OH! before they started singing, Kyle approached the stage, Ambre crouched down, he cupped her cheek and gave her a sweet kiss ... it was so adorable!
They sang seven songs (when they were only supposed to do six LOL). They sang Explode, Baby Won't You (Kiss My Lips), All Your Gravity, Give/Take, Beep, Hell-A, It's Our Time Now, and Mysterons (the one they snuck in)
Kyle sang along with every song and danced ... it was so awesome. It started off with only a couple of us down there, but some of the people who'd been there to see Live Over Paris came down and started dancing and then it was cool. The whole band owns the stage when they perform, but especially Ambre. She commands attention and she deserves it!!
Here are some pictures of Ambre from the show:
This is my favorite shot ... it's just looks so psychadelic and awesome ...
She was totally killing it last night and it was just so awesome!
After they performed, me and Cori went over to the vendor area to meet up with the band ...
Here's me and Ambre ... she's a stunner, right??? And the sweetest girl ever! She knew who I was (I follow her on Twitter) ... and we chatted for a while. I got a shirt (I'll show it at the end of the post) which is awesome. We talked about how they'd met Lexi and Jax last week, and Ambre said how she used the leopard print duct tape on the mic and she used the bag she'd gotten. Alex wandered over around that time and we all started chatting some more. Ambre said she was trying not to die and that the adrenaline had worn off (she's fighting a kidney infection) ... then Kyle wandered over and asked if she wanted something to drink ... he didn't hang there much, probably went back to the dressing room. We somehow got on the subject of being tards and well ... Ambre said something along the lines that Kyle was an uber tard, but in the best way *g* ... she left a little after that cuz she was hurting (but not before giving me a hug!) ...
So then we hung out a bit with Alex. He was all stoked that none of could tell that he messed up the bass part in one of the songs LOL ... we talked about food, and how Alex had only had chips and salsa and candy and that Del Taco sounded really good. I talked about Lexi and Jax and he was like 'Oh! They made us t-shirts!' like, kinda stoked about it *g*. Then we talked about how tiny Kyle was LOL ... Alex pointed out the mailing list, which I hadn't signed up for because I follow on Twitter and Facebook ... but Alex pointed out a small box that said 'Do You Want to Help Out S.H.E.' and I was O.O ... Alex was like 'you guys could be our street team' ... um YES PLEASE!!! So I signed up and checked the box *g*
We were about to go check out Live Over Paris, who'd taken the stage, when Bay showed up.
We were talking about merchandise and how I'd purchased a shirt. Bay asked if I wanted to purchase more merchandise LOL. I said I already had the album on my iPod. Bay said 'Do you have it on your iPod because you ... bought it?' to which I replied 'Of course I bought it!' He seemed kind of awestruck (him and Alex) when I said that I'd only showed up to see their band. When I asked for a picture, he got all shy. A girl he was with said 'Oh come on, you look great in pictures' and Bay was like 'is that supposed to be a compliment?' and I replied 'Its' all in how you phrase it. You look great in pictures but you look even better in person!' That won me a smile - he pointed to me as he looked at the girl LOL ... I showed him our pic and he commented about shiny his hair looked. He said they were going to playing in Long Beach in December at Que Sera, so I might have to check them out ...
Oh! Here's the shirt I bought!
It was a totally awesome night ... something I won't soon forget
