Clark sat on the floor, surrounded by a group of giggling girls. He didn’t quite understand how he got himself in this situation.

“Clark, I would kill for you hair,” Jackie said, running a brush through his hair.

“Don’t move, Clark, or I’m going to poke you,” Lana said, coming at him with a pencil.

“What the hell are you doing?” Clark asked, trying to evade the incoming pencil.

“Eyeliner, Clark. You’re going to look so good,” Lana said with a large smile. Clark looked around and saw the other girls all nodding and smiling. Clark just sat and sighed.

“You’re trying out for what?” Jonathan Kent asked, looking at his son.

“You won’t let me try out for the football team,” Clark mumbled, looking at the floor.

“But the cheerleading squad?” Jonathan asked. “Aren’t you worried about throwing one of the girls too high?”

“Dad, it’s a good way for me to learn control,” Clark said. He wasn’t going to make a mention of looking up girls’ skirts. First, he didn’t want to get smacked upside the head. Second, looking up girls’ skirts didn’t seem all that interesting ever since he met Lex.

Martha came up and placed a hand on Jonathan’s arm. “Maybe it will be good for him,” Martha said.

“Are you serious?” Jonathan asked.

“It might help him stop tripping and stumbling, help him be more graceful,” Martha said.

Jonathan sighed loudly. “Fine,” he said and signed the permission slip.

Clark easily made his way onto the squad. Lana had vouched for him, and when they saw how easily he could lift the girls, he was a shoe-in. Lana and Jackie had taken him to get a uniform; the first boy’s Crow uniform according to the cheer coach.

He was making his way home when he ran into Lex. “Hey Lex,” he said.

“Clark, what are you doing heading home so late?” Lex asked, getting out of his car.

“I was at school, trying out for the cheerleading squad,” Clark mumbled.

“Cheerleading, Clark? I pictured you as more of a football guy,” Lex said, noticing the plastic bag in Clark’s hand.

“Dad wouldn’t let me try out for the football team,” Clark said, blushing. “And I figure this might help me stop being so clumsy.”

“I’ll come to every game,” Lex said with a smile. “If only to support the squad; would you like a ride home?”

“No, I think I’ll walk,” Clark said with blush. “My first game is next week,” he said, going into a jog.

Lex watched Clark jog away and smiled. Clark was certainly interesting.

Clark was amazed at how much fun he actually had on the squad. His mom helped him get stuff together for bake sales and girls lined up to watch him wash cars during the car washes. Lex was there for every event, ‘supporting the squad.’ He even showed up at the football games to watch Clark cheer. Sure, Clark got teased a little, but it was all worth it. The girls were like his second family. He felt like he could tell them anything, and he opened up to them.

“I knew it!” Lana cried one day after practice. Jackie had gone up to Clark and totally flirted with him, and Clark had very gently turned her down. When Jackie asked why, Clark very gently told her that he batted for the other team. Jackie immediately ran for Lana to tell her.

“Lana, keep it down,” Clark said. He had changed out of his practice clothes and was walking down the hall with her and Jackie. “It’s bad enough that I’m the only male cheerleader, but if word got out that I’m gay too there’d be no end to the teasing.”

“Oh sure,” Lana said. “So, is there a particular guy you’re in to?” Jackie and Lana looked at Clark eagerly.

“There is someone,” Clark said softly.

“Oh, don’t tell us now. Let us think about it a while and then we’ll give you our answer tomorrow night at the slumber party,” Lana said.

“Slumber party?” Clark asked with fear in his eyes.

“Yeah, in celebration of Spring Break we’re all getting together at Jackie’s house. I told you all about it, remember?” Lana asked.

“Oh yeah, must’ve forgot,” Clark mumbled.

“Don’t worry,” Jackie said. “None of the other girls will try to hit on you. We’ll let them all know you’re off limits.”

“Great,” Clark said.

“All right, well we’ll see you tomorrow at school,” Jackie said. “And bring your overnight bag with you; we’re going straight to my house after practice.” Clark nodded and waited till Jackie and Lana were out of sight before speeding home.

“Mom,” Clark said. “Did I tell you that the squad is having a slumber party tomorrow night?”

“Yes, honey you did,” Martha said. “Last week you mentioned it. I put together an overnight bag for you so all you have to do is take it with you tomorrow.” Martha came in from the kitchen. “The girls said you guys were going someplace nice for breakfast Saturday, so I put some of your nicer clothes in there.”

“Thanks Mom,” Clark said. He ate the plate of food his mom set in front of him and then went upstairs to do his homework before falling into bed, exhausted.

Jackie had driven Lana and Clark to her house, and they sat and waited for the rest of the squad to show up. As the girls all came in, they gave Clark a hug and asked who the mystery man was. Clark just stuttered and blushed.   Once the whole squad was there, they all headed to the basement and began eating pizza, drinking soda, and chatting animatedly.

“Okay Clark, we’ve been thinking about this since yesterday and we think we know who your crush is,” Lana said with a bright smile.

“All right, take a guess,” Clark said with a shy smile.

“Lex Luthor,” Jackie and Lana said in unison. Clark looked down at the floor and flushed bright red.

“Yes!” Lana said, punching the air.

“It doesn’t matter,” Clark said softly. “He’d never want me, even if he was gay.”

“Honey, Lex is straight as a carpenter’s ruler,” Jackie said with a flick of her wrist. “He’s been to every game, every event, and it hasn’t been because of us. Trust me, he wants you.”

“Girls, I think we know what we need to do,” Lana said, and Clark watched in fear as all the girls smiled and nodded.

Clark suddenly found himself sitting on the floor, surrounded by a group of giggling girls. He didn’t quite understand how he got himself in this situation.

“Clark, I would kill for you hair,” Jackie said, running a brush through his hair.

“Don’t move Clark, or I’m going to poke you,” Lana said, coming at him with a pencil.

‘What the hell are you doing?” Clark asked, trying to evade the incoming pencil.

“Eyeliner, Clark. You’re going to look so good,” Lana said with a large smile. Clark looked around and saw the other girls all nodding and smiling. Clark just sat and sighed. Lana came closer and Clark felt the pencil pulling at his eyelids. “Look up Clark,” Lana said. Clark immediately complied and felt the pencil pulling at his bottom lids. Lana ran her fingers around his eyes, smudging it slightly. “Perfect,” she said.

Clark started to get up but Jackie pushed him back down on the floor. “I’m not done,” she said. One of the other girls came up and handed Jackie a bottle of something. Suddenly, he felt Jackie’s wet, cold fingers running through his hair.

“What are you doing?” Clark asked as he felt Jackie’s hands move his hair this way and that.

“I’m putting product in your hair,” Jackie said. “Your hair was just begging for product. Did you know your hair is really curly?”

“Yes, I straighten it everyday,” Clark said with a sigh.

“Well, you look so much hotter with it curly,” Jackie said. While she was fiddling with his hair, Clark noticed Lana coming back with a tiny thing in her hand.

“Now what?” Clark asked.

“Just a little lip gloss,” Lana said. At Clark’s scared look, she laughed. “Nothing too different from your own color, just enough to bring attention.” Clark sighed and let Lana put whatever it was on his lips. Jackie had finished with his hair and had grabbed his overnight bag and started pulling clothes out.

“Oh, Lana, look at this,” Jackie said, pulling clothes out of Clark’s bag. Lana went over to Jackie and began helping her pull stuff out. Lana crowed with glee as she pulled out a pair of black slacks and a deep green turtleneck. “This is perfect,” Lana said, tossing the clothes to Clark. “Go put this on.”

“Why?” Clark asked, a little scared.

“We have a very good plan, and it requires you to be dressed in that,” Jackie said. “Now go change.” Clark sighed, saw all the girls waiting and grudgingly went into the bathroom and changed. When he came out, the girls all started clapping and wolf whistling, causing Clark to blush.

“Okay, I’m dressed, now what?” Clark asked.

“Now you’re going to get into the car,” Jackie said with a bright smile.   Lana smiled and pulled Clark along with her, leaving the rest of the squad at the house. They drove in silence since Clark had given up on trying to figure out what was going on.

“We’re here,” Lana said. Clark looked up and almost fainted. There were right outside the Luthor mansion, just by the front door in fact. Lana opened the door, pushed Clark out and then waved out the window as she and Jackie drove away. He was tempted to speed home, but he had an odd feeling that the girls would wait and spy to make sure their plan went accordingly. So Clark stood outside the mansion. He was about to knock when the door was opened by a slightly disheveled Lex.

“Clark, what are you doing here?” Lex asked.

“Can I come in? They won’t leave till they see me come in,” Clark said. Lex gave him an odd look but let him in.

“Okay, so Jackie, Lana and the rest of the girls had this great idea,” Clark said as he walked in. He turned and faced Lex, who gave him an appreciative stare. “What?”

“You look fabulous,” Lex said. “Did the girls on the squad do this to you?” He took in the black slacks, dark green turtleneck, glossy lips, eyes lined with eyeliner, and dark curly hair.

Clark nodded. “Their brilliant idea so I could land my crush,” he said shyly.

“How did landing your crush involve the girls dropping you off here?” Lex asked. Clark blushed even more. “Oh I’m so dense,” Lex said and placed a hand on Clark’s cheek. “Me?” Clark nodded slowly, staring at the floor. Lex leaned up and kissed Clark softly on the lips. “How long?” Lex asked.

“Since I pulled you out of the river,” Clark said softly. Lex smiled and kissed him again, before pulling him along to the study, sitting him down on the sofa and straddling him.

“You are so amazing,” Lex said, raining kisses down on Clark’s face and neck. Clark moaned and pulled Lex closer.

“Wait,” Clark said. “I have secrets, things that could change –“

“Shh,” Lex said, placing a finger on Clark’s lips. “We have all the time in the world. Your secrets can wait. Nothing you say will make me love you any less.” Clark smiled and pulled Lex against him.

“Jackie and Lana are going to drop by to pick me up for breakfast at nine,” Clark said, smiling as Lex sucked at a spot behind his ear.

“Plenty of time for a good make out session then,” Lex said with a grin. “Nothing more until you’re ready.” Clark smiled and wrapped his arms around Lex. “Remind me to sponsor the cheer squad; buy them all new uniforms, send them on whatever trips, anything to thank them for what they just gave me.”

“What they gave us,” Clark said and pulled Lex in for a deep kiss.
