Chloe sighed and looked at the clock. She still had twenty minutes left of her office hours, and still not one student had stopped by. She propped her feet up on the desk and went back to reading her romance novel. Zaynab was just about to proclaim her love for Passion Master Karim. She smiled softly, relaxing further in her chair.

“Professor Sullivan?”

Chloe sat up quickly and hid her book in her desk, looking for the owner of the voice.

“Yes, may I help you?” she said, eyeing the blonde woman who stood in the doorway.

“Special Agent Echolls with the FBI,” the blonde said. “I’ve been working on a case that leads straight to Smallville, and I was hoping to pick your brain.”

Chloe sighed and rested her arms on desk. “I left Smallville behind a long time ago, Agent Echolls.”

“Please, call me Veronica,” the woman said.

“Okay Veronica; Smallville was a long time ago. I try to forget it,” Chloe said softly. So many bad things had happened there; things she’d rather forget.

Veronica sighed, and sat down. “I can understand trying to forget things,” she said. “But I really could use your help.”

Chloe sighed. “What do you need to know?”

“How long have things been … strange in Smallville?” Veronica asked, ready with a pad of paper and a pen.

“Since the meteor shower of 1989,” Chloe said. “Ever since then, weirdness has followed that town. I haven’t been back there since I started teaching here at NYU.”

“I can understand that,” Veronica said with a smile. “So, when you say weirdness … “

Chloe chuckled. “Let’s see; fat sucking girls, invisible boy, the guy who sucked the heat out of you, the guy who could split himself in two … “

“I think I get the idea,” Veronica said. “So, basically I should be prepared for anything.”

Chloe nodded. “If you think it doesn’t exist, go to Smallville and you’ll probably find it.” She looked at her watch and saw the time. “Listen Veronica, I hate to cut things short, but – “

“I understand. I should be going,” Veronica said, looking at her watch also. “My husband is waiting,” she added with a grin.

“Ah, one shouldn’t keep the husband waiting,” Chloe said with a smile.

“Thank you for speaking with me, Professor Sullivan,” Veronica said as she stood up.

“No problem,” Chloe said. “Good luck.”

“Thanks,” Veronica said as she left Chloe’s office.

Chloe watched Veronica leave, and dug her romance novel back out of her desk, dropping it into her satchel. Just as she was about to leave, she heard her phone ring.

“Sullivan,” she said.

“What’s up Professor?” the man asked with a chuckle.

“Just finished my office hours and I’m on my way home,” Chloe said with a smile. “Got something interesting to tell you when I get home.”

“Really?”

“Really. Seems Smallville just won’t leave me alone,” Chloe said. “I’ll tell you all about it when I get home.”

“I’ll have food waiting,” he said.

“Chinese again, Sam?” Chloe said with a grin.

“Nope, Mexican tonight,” Sam said with a chuckle. “Can’t wait to see you.”

“I’ll be home before you know it, and maybe you can help me grade papers,” Chloe replied. “See you soon.”

“Love you,” Sam whispered.

“Love you too,” Chloe said with a smile. She hung up and headed out; headed home.

Squee! Logan and Veronica. Sam and Chloe. Great use of crossover, though I am curious---what does Chloe teach?

Thanks!! And to be honest, I never really thought about what Chloe would teach ... although journalism comes to mind. :D
