Summary: Lex comes home after a draining day and gets a delicious surprise from Clark.

Lex rubbed his face as he made his way through the penthouse to the master bedroom he shared with Clark. His day had been long; he’d meant to meet with Clark for dinner, but his meeting had gone longer than planned. He sighed softly and dropped his briefcase by the bedroom door as he stepped inside.

“Sorry Clark, I know we were supposed to meet for dinner and … “ Lex trailed off as he looked up. He’d been too busy taking off his socks and shoes to notice his lover. Now he noticed.

“I forgive you,” Clark breathed softly.

Lex drank in the sight of his lover. Clark’s hair, having grown longish in the last few months, was curled and flipped around his face, emphasizing his wide green eyes. His face had been subtly made up, with a light dusting of powder, pale gloss and eyes rimmed in black kohl. Lex’s gaze dipped below the neck and he groaned; Clark was dressed in a pale lavender silk negligee that whispered over his golden skin.

“Christ,” Lex moaned. He fumbled with his clothes, tossing them in an uncharacteristic heap on the floor before nearly jumping on top of Clark. “You … “

“Me,” Clark replied with a soft smile. “I called ahead … Marnie told me you’d be late … “

Lex pressed his body against Clark’s, reveling in the feel of silk against his skin. “I missed you,” he murmured. “I’m sorry I couldn’t make it … “

Clark smiled and ran his hands over Lex’s pale skin, using the freckles on his back to make little patterns. “It’s okay,” Clark murmured, pressing a kiss to Lex’s forehead. “You still come home to me.”

“Always,” Lex said.
