Pairing: Gibbs/DiNozzo, McGee/Ziva
Genre: Established Relationship
Summary: Tony and Gibbs are both home on 'maternity' leave and Tony gets a visitor

A/N 2: This takes place in what I call my Waddling!verse, where Tony and Gibbs are both preggers
Tony hummed to himself as he sat on the couch in the living room, headphones on his belly. Ducky told him that playing music to the baby would be good, so Tony did it. Gibbs flat out refused, instead choosing to spend his time out in the garage. The doctor told Gibbs he couldn’t go down to the basement anymore and that if he was going to work, he needed to be in a place with more ventilation, so Gibbs spent his time in the garage with the door open.
He glanced over towards the foyer when he heard the front door open.
“Jethro?” he called, tugging the headphones off and standing up. His old OSU sweatshirt just barely hid his belly, and he tugged it down a bit as he wandered towards the front door.
“No, I heard him in the garage.” McGee stepped further into the house and leaned against the doorjamb. “What’s he working on in there?”
“Cradles,” Tony replied with a smile. “So, what brings you to our neck of the woods? Bored in the cyber unit?” McGee had been transferred down to the cyber unit while Tony and Gibbs were out on maternity leave.
“We had a fight,” McGee muttered.
Tony sighed and headed back to the couch, motioning for McGee to follow him.
“About what?” Tony asked and he slowly settled back onto the couch. “And use kid friendly words, I’ve been told the little one can hear us.”
“Right,” McGee said as he sat down on the couch. “I asked her to move in.”
“To the McGeek bachelor pad?” Tony asked with a grin.
McGee gave Tony a glare, but nodded. “And she turned me down,” he said. “Said she wasn’t ready to … merge our belongings? We’ve been seeing each other for a year.”
“Moving in is a big step,” Tony said. “Look at me and Jethro. It took us a long time to get to this step. We were close to this and then he left … “
“Mexico,” McGee replied.
“Mexico,” Tony agreed. “And when he finally came back, it was hard. He had vague memories of what we had, but … we had to work hard to get back what we lost.”
“But she didn’t lose her memory and leave,” McGee said. “She just doesn’t want to move in with me.”
“Did she say that? Did she say she’d never move in with you?” Tony asked, grabbing a pillow and putting it behind his back for support.
“Well … no,” McGee said slowly.
“The time is not right.”
McGee and Tony both glanced up and saw Ziva standing in the doorway.
“Ziva.” McGee stood and wiped his hands on his jeans.
“We will know when the time is right, Tim,” Ziva said softly. “Also, neither of our places are appropriate for cohabitation.” She took a few steps closer to McGee, giving him a smile.
“Both your apartments are very single person oriented,” Tony commented from his spot on the couch.
“I said no because I would like to find a place that is ours,” Ziva said. “Not me moving into your place, or you moving into mine. A place that we chose, together.”
“Oh,” McGee said. “I screwed up.”
Tony bit back the retort that was sitting on the tip of his tongue.
Ziva smiled softly. “No Tim, you did not mess up,” she said. “We just need to take some time and find a place that is … ours.”
“I like the sound of that,” McGee said. He leaned in and gave Ziva a gentle kiss.
“Well, as touching as this moment is, the rugrat’s kicking my bladder,” Tony said, levering himself off the couch and making his way to the bathroom. When he exited, Ziva and McGee were gone and Gibbs was resting on the couch.
“Done for the day?” Tony asked, sitting on the opposite end of the couch, legs twined with Gibbs’.
“Yeah,” Gibbs replied, yawning and rubbing his own belly, which was barely disguised under a USMC sweatshirt. “McGee and Ziva work things out?”
“They’re fine,” Tony said. “Little bump that quickly worked itself out.” He dropped his head back and rubbed his stomach. “Hey, when did Rule 12 go out the window?”
“About the time you and I started having those Friday movie nights,” Gibbs replied with a smile. “That quickly became movie weekends filled with sex.”
“Oh yeah.” Tony lifted his head and gave his partner a wink. “I loved those weekends.”
“Me too,” Gibbs murmured.
They sat in silence for a couple of minutes, until … “Think they’ll make it?” Tony asked softly.
“Of course they’ll make it,” Gibbs said. “We made it, didn’t we?”
Tony’s foot rubbed against Gibbs’ calf, and he gave his lover a soft smile. “Yeah, we did.”
