Summary: A really hot summer day, and Lex goes to see Clark and finds a surprise
Spoilers: None

Lex smiled as he pulled up to the Kent Farm. The summer had been terribly hot, and 
Lex was hoping to convince Clark to go to the Mansion and take a dip in the pool. He 
noticed that the truck was gone, but when he got out of his car, he could hear music 
coming from the barn.

 

When he entered the barn, he stopped. There was Clark, shirtless and in a pair of 
indecently short cut off jeans. What shocked him more was what Clark was doing. 
He was bouncing around the barn … singing.

Lex chuckled and rested against the doorframe, watching the show. Clark sang well, and his energy was contagious. He found his foot tapping to the beat and his head nodding.

Lex listened, really listened to the lyrics. Clark danced and sang without abandon, his emotions clear on his face. The song finished and Clark walked over to a stack of crates and took a swig of water from the bottle sitting there. Lex was fascinated by the small stream of water that made it’s way down Clark’s chin and made a trail down his chest. Clark turned and dropped the bottle of water, causing it splash all over him. 

 

“Uh … hi Lex,” Clark stuttered, grabbing a rag to wipe his chest.

 

“You have a great voice Clark,” Lex said with a smile.

 

“Thanks,” Clark replied with a blush.

 

“Didn’t know you were a Christina fan,” Lex said.

 

“Oh she’s great! I really like her music,” Clark said, a bright smile on his face. “Um … how long were you standing there?”

 

“Long enough,” Lex replied. “You know, when you sing, your whole face opens up and you can read every emotion.”

 

Clark’s eyes went wide. “R-really?”

 

Lex nodded. “Who is she?”

 

Clark blushed. “Not a she,” he whispered. 

 

Lex’s eyes widened a bit. “Oh,” he said softly. “If it’s that AC character … “

 

Clark burst out laughing. “It is most definitely not AC.”

 

Lex heaved a soft sigh. Clark smiled a little. “Relieved?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.

 

Lex coughed a bit. “Um … yes?”

 

Clark walked over to him. “It’s someone older … rich, lithe, beautiful … bald,” he whispered. He smiled brightly when Lex took an involuntary step back. “Ever since that day … when I saved you … “

 

Lex recovered, took a step forward and pulled Clark in for a hard kiss. “Thank God,” he murmured against Clark’s cheek. “Want to come over to my place for a dip in the pool?”

 

“And maybe something else?” Clark asked with a shy smile.

 

“Anything else,” Lex whispered. 

 

Clark smiled, took Lex’s hand and walked with him. He didn’t know what the future 
would hold now, but it sure looked promising.
