Clark sighed in his sleep, shifting against the soft silk sheets beneath his skin. 

 

“Lex?” he mumbled, stirring a bit when he felt the feather light touches on his back. 

 

“Yes, my love?” Lex asked. He was straddling Clark’s hips, drawing on Clark’s back with a purple ink pen.

 

“What are you doing?”

 

“I’m marking you,” Lex answered simply.

 

“Marking me?” Clark mumbled. He could feel the pen on his back, drawing and shading. “Lex, you realize that I will be going to the lake tomorrow with Chloe, right?” Clark could feel Lex still drawing, and could feel that the marks his lover was making were by no means small. Clark could feel the ink drying on his entire back.

 

“I know,” Lex murmured, pressing a kiss to the back of Clark’s neck. “This will wash off … eventually.”

 

Clark sighed softly as he felt Lex’s lips touch the back of his neck. His body sank deeper into the mattress as he felt Lex finish his work. He giggled a bit when Lex began to gently blow on his back to dry the ink completely.

 

“Can I see?” Clark whispered.

 

“Of course,” Lex replied, sliding off Clark and taking his hand. He led Clark into the bathroom and leaned against the door jam.

 

Clark maneuvered himself until he could see his back in the large mirror on the wall. “Oh Lex,” he breathed. There on his back were an ornate C and an equally ornate L, intertwined in a delicate design.

 

Lex gave Clark a soft smile as Clark admired his work. “It turned out pretty well,” he mused.

 

“It’s stunning,” Clark murmured. “If I could make this permanent … I would.”

 

Lex padded across the tile floor and gave Clark a gentle kiss. “I’m looking into it,” he said with a grin.

 

Clark chuckled and nodded. “How did I know that would be your answer?” he said. “I do love you.”

 

“I love you too,” Lex murmured, giving Clark a playful smack on the ass. “Come on, let’s go back to sleep … you have your trip with Chloe.”

 

Clark nodded and allowed Lex to lead him back to bed, where they curled up around each other, Lex’s hand gently tracing the ink on Clark’s back.
